The White Line Couloir - Lost River Range, Idaho

Here are some photos for my friend Kevin of the White Line Couloir in the Lost River Range a few years ago. I would call this average conditions. I've climbed it with more and with less ice than this. These photos show the M5 crux pitch.

A Modern South Park

Those of you who have climbed at South Park can agree that it's some of the most unique basalt climbing in the area. The routes require a healthy dose of endurance and a good understanding of climbing choss to stomach the majority of the routes. Pinches, slopers, crimps, side-pulls, and big moves are the norm. Most of the routes are overhanging and relatively long when compared to other nearby areas. In short, South Park is our fitness crag.

A few of the more modern routes stand out in both quality of movement and difficulty. Here's a photo spread of my current favorite South Park Routes.
